Responsible Exploration
Long-Term Value

CTL operates under value-based principles of excellence, personal accountability, integrity and social and environmental responsibility.

Our Commitment

CTL is committed to responsible exploration and mine development in Cornwall, guided by integrity, accountability and environmental stewardship. We work closely with local communities, suppliers, partners and employees to ensure the benefits of our Projects are shared, supporting long-term social and economic value and the protection of the environment.

Our Planet

Protecting Cornwall’s natural environment — every step of the way.

CTL is committed to environmental sustainability, supporting the transition to clean energy while protecting Cornwall’s environment and heritage. There are numerous examples of how this commitment translates into action — here are some of them.

In focus

Water sampling programmes

Water sampling is a key part of our commitment to the environment. Since 2022, our geologists have regularly collected water samples all year round, across our Project Areas, including Great Wheal Vor, Tregonning North and Tregonning South.

Additional sampling is carried out before, during and after any drilling activity, helping us monitor water bodies and identify any changes in surface water conditions. This process establishes a geochemical baseline, while ongoing monitoring ensures that our activities have no measurable impact on surface water.

At each site, a selection of water parameters is measured in situ, stream conditions are recorded, and samples are analysed at our cost by a local accredited laboratory. We take approximately 1.2 litres of water from each location every two weeks at a minimum, with sampling frequency increasing when drilling is underway. This results in around 200 to 400 samples per year across our four monitored sites.

Since we began this programme in April 2022, the data continues to show that our exploration activities respect and protect the local water environment.

01

Joining in local conservation efforts

We actively participate in local conservation initiatives to protect our natural environment, including since 2022 as a Platinum Business Member of Kernow Conservation, contributing hands-on to habitat restoration and endangered species re-introduction across Cornwall. Our geologists regularly work with Kernow Conservation groups to help create habitats for endangered species and to strengthen local biodiversity and ecosystem resilience through practical, on-the-ground action.

02

Rehabilitation of Trevurvas Pond

We are ongoing participants, together with local residents and the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, in the rehabilitation of Trevurvas Pond and its surrounding environment, which is an important part of the natural water systems near our Great Wheal Vor Project. Our donations, as well as work done by team members, have helped restore Trevurvas Pond to a clean water environment with diverse wildlife.

03

Planting trees

We have an ongoing tree-planting programme in the local area, notably the planting of “Tinners Avenue” at Ashton, new hedging with indigenous species, and a community orchard.

04

Protecting the environment during drilling operations

Ecological Impact Assessments for all locations and walkover Ecological Surveys prior to drilling, and compliance with Ecological Constraints Plans and Mitigation Recommendations; Archaeology Reports compliance; Noise Assessments compliance; Access Routes to protect public rights of way and public safety; compliance with requirements of the applicable General Permitted Development Order issued by Cornwall Council as Mineral Planning Authority, all applicable Environmental and Health and Safety requirements; sensitive site management during drilling operations and full restoration of drill-sites post-programme.

05

International Tin Association: The Tin Code

In February 2026 CTL signed the ITA Tin Code ESG sustainability standard, underlining CTL’s commitment to responsible mining, transparency, and long-term positive impact on local communities and the global tin supply chain.

06

Renewable energy

CTL is researching whether and to what extent geothermal energy and other clean energy sources could help power its future extraction and processing operations, thus reducing dependency on fossil fuels.

Shared Prosperity

We are advancing high-grade tin and lithium projects designed to deliver long-term value for Cornwall and strengthen the UK’s secure supply of critical minerals. Building on Cornwall’s 4,000-year mining heritage, our work supports a modern revival of the region’s role in the global minerals supply chain, with benefits rooted in local skills, employment, and responsible development.

  • Creating local employment and supporting skills development in Cornwall
  • Maintaining transparent community engagement throughout our exploration programmes
  • Respecting and contributing to Cornwall’s UNESCO World Mining Heritage
  • Strengthening the UK’s domestic supply of Critical and Growth Minerals and reducing reliance on geopolitically sensitive supply chains

Governance

High standards of governance, transparency and disciplined management underpin CTL's long-term strategy. The UK provides a reliable rule of law, robust regulatory framework and supportive government policy for critical mineral development.

  • UK-based and UK-regulated — reliable rule of law
  • Knowledge-Intensive Company status
  • Simple, transparent shareholder structure — one class of ordinary shares
  • EIS-qualifying — over £36 million of tax relief capacity for UK taxpayers
